The equipment inventory and why it powers AD matching
The Equipment tab is your aircraft's installed-equipment inventory — the autopilot, ELT, transponder, ADS-B unit, and other installed appliances, recorded by category with part and serial details. It's the roster of appliances whose maintenance records you keep as owner under §91.417, and it quietly powers one of the most valuable things TachMinder does.
Why this list matters more than it looks
Airworthiness Directives don't just target airframes, engines, and propellers — they target appliances too, and appliance ADs are the category type clubs typically don't track. TachMinder matches ADs against your equipment inventory, which cuts both ways: matching finds appliance ADs for what you've logged, and it is blind to equipment you haven't. An unlogged autopilot is invisible to AD matching. If appliance ADs exist for your aircraft type but you have no appliances logged, the app nudges you to fill in the inventory.
