Notifications and reminders: tuning the signal

Reminders are only useful if they arrive when you'll act on them and stay quiet otherwise. TachMinder's notification settings are built around that: you control the what, the when, and the how often — with one deliberate exception for safety-critical alerts.

Setting it up

   Open Settings → Notifications

   All email notification preferences live in one place in your settings.

   Choose what emails you

   Per-type toggles cover maintenance coming due, ADs, registration expiring, and insurance expiring.

   Choose how far ahead

   Lead time options are 7, 14, 30, or 60 days ahead — pick the runway you actually need to schedule shop time.

   Choose the rhythm

   Cadence is daily or a weekly digest. If your inbox is already loud, the weekly digest bundles everything into one email.

Two honest caveats

• Daily is the finest granularity. Reminders are sent by a process that runs once a day, so "daily" is as fine-grained as delivery gets — there's no same-minute alerting.
• Safety-critical alerts can't be switched off. Safety-critical alerts about FAA-required items — VOR-check currency and overdue ADs — are always sent regardless of your toggles. They follow your chosen cadence rhythm, but they can't be disabled, because safety information is never gated behind a preference.

Browser push

Browser push notifications can be enabled separately from email, if you want alerts to reach you without opening your inbox.

The in-app Notifications page

Email is the nudge; the in-app Notifications page is the ledger. It's the chronological stream of everything — reminders, mechanic submissions, access requests — each with a deep link to the right surface, and the sidebar badge shows your unread count.
