Ask TachMinder: a chat assistant that knows your aircraft
Ask TachMinder, in the sidebar, is a chat assistant grounded in your own fleet's records — your maintenance history, your upcoming items, your AD status. Ask "when is my next oil change due?" or "what did the last annual find?" and the answer is about your aircraft, not a generic airplane. That grounding is what makes it useful: it's reading the same record you and your mechanic maintain, so its answers reflect what's actually in it.
Every response carries a disclaimer, and it's not boilerplate we hope you'll skip: the assistant provides informational guidance only, AD data should be verified at drs.faa.gov, and nothing it says substitutes for a certificated A&P or IA. The AI organizes and explains your records; it does not make airworthiness decisions.
Pre-Visit Summary: a briefing for your mechanic
The Pre-Visit Summary tab on your aircraft page generates a structured AI briefing of the aircraft's maintenance status and upcoming items — the document you wish you had every time you dropped the airplane off and then spent ten minutes at the counter reconstructing its history from memory.
Open the Pre-Visit Summary tab
On your aircraft's page, go to the Pre-Visit Summary tab and generate the briefing. It's built from the aircraft's current record — maintenance status and what's coming due.
Hand it to your mechanic
Copy it to the clipboard or download it as a PDF — whichever fits how you and your shop communicate.
Regenerate before each visit
The summary reflects the record at the moment you generate it, and you can regenerate anytime — so make a fresh one before each shop visit rather than reusing last quarter's.
AI document parsing
The third AI feature works mostly behind the scenes: document parsing reads your uploaded paperwork — during Smart Setup and for ongoing uploads afterwards — and turns registrations, logbook pages, work orders, and oil analysis reports into structured records. It's what lets you photograph a logbook page instead of retyping it.
What the AI is, honestly
All three features do the same fundamental job: they organize, summarize, and explain your records. They do not replace the authorities that actually matter. The FAA's database remains authoritative for AD information, and your certificated mechanic remains the authority on your aircraft's airworthiness. TachMinder never signs anything off, never certifies return to service, and never asks you to trust an AI answer over the people and sources with legal authority. Treat the AI as a sharp assistant with perfect recall of your paperwork — not as a mechanic.
